Resources: Projects & Salesforce

Below are links to resources I use a great deal for Project Management and Salesforce. Enjoy!

Project Management

Agile Manifesto
The basic philosophy of Agile by the 17 founders.

Lean 6 Sigma
DMAIC process found on the Resources page (scroll to the bottom of the page).
Also, has 100+ free templates on their site available for download.

PMI’s PMBOK
Project Management Institute’s: Project Management Book of Knowledge
They are the gold standard for the waterfall methodology. While you need to purchase the PMBOK book or sign up as member to see the methodology, the blog is available to all and quite good. In addition, while their whitepapers are behind the paywall, you can get the gist from the abstract, which is always helpful.

SAFe
Scaled Agile Framework
Great interactive diagram on home page. The glossary is very detailed and available to everyone. New blogs are posted roughly every month. Other portions of the site are behind the paywall.

Scrum.org
The home of scrum. Great information for all roles on the Resources page.

Scrum Alliance
A non profit, trade association, and in their words, they, “nurture the agile movement by providing education, advocacy, research, community and connection.”

Related to PM:

The Pyramid Principle
Great site that describes how to break down information when speaking to Executives.

Salesforce

ForceTalks
A wealth of information, videos, articles and blog posts.

Jitendra Zaa’s Blog
A former colleague’s blog. He’s a talented Salesforce MVP (and the nicest guy).

Salesforce Admin Blog
Best practices, tips and real life examples of how to use Salesforce technology.

Salesforce Architects
Great reference material for Consultants, SAs and TAs.

Salesforce Ben
News, release info, job board and blogs by Ben and others.

Salesforce Help
The core site from Salesforce, always up to date.

Salesforce Trailmix for PMs
This is a trailmix I put together which focuses on some of the softer skills of technical PM and then introductory, but core elements of most Salesforce projects.

Salesforce Weekly
Site run by 3 Salesforce MVPs. Great info on releases and how-to’s.

Technical Areas Helpful for SF

DevOps Resources
The State of DevOps Report
From DORA, (DevOps Research and Assessment). They survey the state of DevOps each year.

Jenkins
All things Jenkins. One of the best apps for CI, automated testing and more.
